Task:

Develop a website from scratch that requires a reasonable amount of design work (HTMLand CSS), interactivity and

dynamic features (Javascript), and back-end data management and processing (PHP and SQL).

Manifestation:

I developed a fake business website that allows customers to place orders, tracks its clients and their activity,

provides special access to clients when they log in, and updates its inventory as items are purchased.

Highlighted Features:

Dynamically Updating Testimonials

An AJAX call is utilized to display all submitted testimonials. The AJAX call checks for testimonials every second and dynamically updates the display such that whenever a user submits a new testimonial, it will be added to the display without needing to refresh the page.

Tracking User Activity

Cookies are utilized to store which products a user views in the enlarged view. Items which are view as such and not added to the user’s cart then appear in the “recently viewed” section of the shopping cart. Users then have the opportunity to add these items to their cart directly from the “recently viewed” section.

Convenient Cart Updates

Users may delete items from and add items to their cart from the shopping cart page. The total will dynamically update as items are added and removed without need to refresh the page. As items are added to the cart from the “recently viewed” section, the section will repopulate itself with other viewed items.
